Educational opportunites are provided for all residents.
Classroom learning is offered 25 hours per week. The
teaching staff holds Idaho teaching certificates, including
special education.
Up to 12 credits can be earned each school year in both
core classes as well as electives which follow established
cirriculum guidelines. The schedule follows a block system
similar to an alternative school and credits are earned
through an accredited public school. Academic instruction
is offered through a variety of cooperative learning activities
tailored to meet all learning styles. Modifications and
adaptations are made in response to the goals and objectives
of each student's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Our main goal is to give students the opportunity to
experience success while maintaining their current grade
level.
package provides baseline social skills, while the problem solving
piece teaches a five-step process for handling
difficulties. The three components are then integrated into a
total cognitive skills package.
